Brooklyn Tweed Peerie

A Yarn Story is very excited to stock Peerie from Brooklyn Tweed – a versatile American yarn that appeals to all knitters, whether you love lace, cables or colourwork!

Taking its name from a Shetland term used in Fair Isle knitting, Peerie is the company’s first worsted-spun fingering weight merino. Expertly spun in Maine, using the fleece of sheep found in Nevada and Utah, Brooklyn Tweed’s high standards guarantees a base for Peerie that is incredibly soft, yet pill-resistant.

The yarn’s smooth 4-ply has plenty of character with a bounce that makes cables and textured stitches spring to life, while the tight twist enhances the sheen and offers a subtle glow to the finished project.

Peerie’s beautiful colour palette comes in a range of shades dyed by master dyers in Maine, and features luxurious jewel tones as well as classic neutrals. The shades in Peerie were developed with stranded colourwork in mind, with each stitch beautifully complementing the next – whatever colour it may be.
