The rising popularity of bamboo as a sustainable resource was an obvious choice to add incredible sheen and strength to a new breed of TFC yarns. While developing this blend, founder Daphne was often reminded of the canopies in the tropical rainforests of Africa, one of the many diverse climates bamboo thrives in. Daphne’s previous work life had led to several years spent in Africa and so a colour palette was developed that was reminiscent of the fauna and flora of these tropical ecosystems. It’s why the tagline for Canopy has always been ‘fruits of the forest’ and we love the heady mix of bright, rich duotones that resulted. A mix of alpaca, bamboo and merino means a soothing drape with a cozy warmth too. The 3 ply of Canopy Fingering provides good stitch definition that means it works well for both colorwork and textured knits.
