Gather Alpaca Gold
No knitter’s stash should be without these incredibly special yarns created with love by talented London-based indie-dyer Mette Lindahl-Wise.
Taking inspiration (and ingredients) from her environments in London and the coast of Denmark, Mette forages for plants, as well as using vegetable leaves, food waste (such as onion peel) and other raw plant materials, to create the dyes for her gorgeous yarn bases.
When she is hand-dyeing, Mette uses both British and Nordic traditions to achieve shades that are full of depth and warmth.
Alpaca Gold is a soft and scrumptious yarn, which A Yarn Story is proud to stock in a variety of beautifully subtle colours on a base that combines alpaca, cashmere and silk.
Mette has taken great care to select plants that are proven to provide colourfast dyes. These soft shades are also lightfast but, like all dyes, may change and develop over time if subjected to sustained and direct light.
