Midwinter Yarns Lithuanian Linen
A wet spun linen from a mill in Lithuania dating back to the 1920's this yarn is perfect for a variety of projects. The heavy lace - light fingering weight of the yarn makes it extremely versatile, it will create a gorgeous summery shawl, a beautiful crocheted blanket or a light weight garment. You can hold two strand together and get a DK weight to create a mire dense fabric.
For those not used to knitting with linen, it may appear stiff and stringy at first, but it softens in your hands as you work with it and will continue to soften for the many years that you wear it. Fantastically hard wearing, once blocked it also holds lace patterns beautifully without curling back up on itself and drapes very well.
