Rosy Green Merino d'Arles

Rosy Green Merino d'Arles is made from 100% French Organic Merino sheep. For centuries shepards have been guiding their flocks over hundreds of kilometres from Southern France to the lush meadows of the Alps during the summer. This old tradition, called transhumance, was adopted in 1806 for the Merino d'Arles sheep and continues today. They are a crossbreed of the old native sheep with Merinos first imported from Spain by Louis XVI.

This is by far one of the softest European wool fibres spun to a beautiful 4-ply weight and dyed in 11 stunning colors. The yarn and colour palette was designed in collaboration with knitwear designer Melanie Berg.

Rosy Green yarns are guaranteed good for environment, sheep, and humans – organic-certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) This yarn is produced for Rosy Green by a small spinning mill and dyer in England.
