With more than 30 years' of knitting, designing and teaching experience, Julie Weisenberger presents her first book: Cocoknits Sweater Workshop, which includes nine new designs.

More than just a collection, however, this book explains the Cocoknits Method – a system of tracking knitting progress in your own easy-to-follow customised worksheet. Unlike most traditional patterns that create flat shapes, the tailored style of construction in these patterns creates truly three-dimensional garments that impart a great fit upon completion.

The innovative colour-coded Cocoknits Worksheet shows exactly where to work shaping elements without having to continually read and interpret pattern abbreviations, and, at the same time, allows the knitter complete control over customisation to achieve a fantastic fit.

All the designs are worked from the neckline down, so once the neck and yoke area are established, the knitter can just cruise through generating the sweater and not worry about counting or losing track of their place in the pattern. Another advantage of knitting top-down is the ability to try on your garment as you work, to ensure the fit is right.

In addition to all new patterns, Julie has included an in-depth guide to choosing the right patterns for your figure type with considerations for colourwork, textured stitches and hemlines all working together to create the right silhouette for you.

Please note, this is a large book and weighs 750g.

Beautifully presented, and a fascinating construction method - BUT NO PATTERNS FOR LIGHTER YARN W...

The book is beautifully laid out, great photography, and the Cocoknits method itself looks fascinating but the book is virtually useless to me as there's only one pattern (my least favorite) for yarn thinner than a UK Aran weight and I can't use large diameter needles or thick, heavy yarn and prefer finer knitwear anyway. If you like knitting with huge needles and very thick yarn, this book will suit you, if you prefer finer yarns steer clear of it
