Shipping

We ship worldwide from our shop in Bath using Royal Mail and DHL Express, a fully tracked, door-to-door courier service. You'll receive tracking for every order, and most international parcels arrive within a few business days.

We charge shipping at cost. We don't build a hidden margin into our postage, and we don't inflate product prices to offer "free" delivery - you pay what it costs us to get your yarn to you safely.

We ship five days a week, Monday - Friday. Orders received before noon will ship same day, often orders received by 2pm with ship same day as well.

How our international prices work

You'll see two prices for most international destinations - one for a standard order and one for a larger order. It's simply based on size:

• Standard order: roughly up to 12 balls or skeins of yarn (approx 1200g of yarn)
• Larger order: bigger orders that need a larger box (approx 1200g - 2kg of yarn)
• The right price is applied automatically at checkout based on what's in your basket, so there's nothing you need to work out.

United States + Canada

US and Canadian orders are sent with DHL Express, fully tracked, with duties and taxes handled at checkout so there are no surprise charges on delivery (see Duties & import taxes below).

Why two prices? DHL charges more to deliver to remote and rural postcodes. Rather than raise the price for everyone, we only apply it to the addresses DHL classifies as remote.

Our system isn't quite smart enough to know if you live in a remote area, so we will check your post code upon order and contact you for further payment if you fall into the remote address category. The further outside a major metropolitan area you live, the more likely it is there will be a remote address charge applied.

VAT on EU orders: For orders to the EU, we collect VAT at checkout through the IOSS scheme, so orders under €150 are delivered with nothing more to pay - no surprise charges at the door. Orders over €150 fall outside IOSS and may be subject to local VAT or duties on delivery, collected by the courier according to your country's rules.

Rest of the world

We ship to most other countries via DHL Express, fully tracked. These prices are for orders up to 2 kg (our standard shipping box). For larger orders, please contact us for a quote before ordering.

Duties & import taxes

United States: Following changes to US import rules in 2025, all orders shipped to the US are now subject to import duty regardless of value. We collect an estimated duty amount at checkout and pay it to DHL on your behalf, so your parcel is delivered with nothing more to pay at the door.

European Union: VAT is collected at checkout via IOSS for orders under €150 (see Europe above). Orders over €150 may attract local VAT or duties on delivery.

Rest of world: Orders may be subject to local import tax or duties, which are the responsibility of the recipient and are collected by the courier on delivery according to your country's rules.

A note on packaging

We ship international orders in DHL's own recyclable Express boxes wherever possible. It's the most cost-effective and lowest-waste option, and it helps us keep shipping prices as close to cost as we can. For domestic orders we ship in recyclable paper mailer bags.

Wholesale orders

Wholesale orders are shipped via DHL Express and charged at cost. Because wholesale quantities vary, we calculate the exact shipping cost once your order has been packed and the final weight and box size are known. Shipping is invoiced separately from your order, so you're only ever charged what it actually costs us to send - never an estimate.
