Inspired by a chequered jacket worn by Sting in the documentarty Bring on the Night, this sweater pattern includes both a version for men and women.
MATERIALS AND MEASUREMENTS
MATERIALS 50 g Isager Spinni in each of the foll colours: 2s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 47 and 30 = 300 g 50 g Isager Alpaca 1 in each of the foll colours: 2s, 7s, 8s, 47 and 30 = 250 g
MEASUREMENTS Half chest width: 54 (60) cm = 6 squares measuring 9 (10) cm Length: 54 (60) cm + a 7 cm edge. The length can be added to at the top Sleeve from armhole: 45 (49) cm or desired length. The sleeve length can be added to as it is worked from the top down.
The sweater can be worked using whole skeins of yarn, as the cols blend in well with each other and in this way weaving in a lot of ends can be avoided. Working in this way, however, calls for a certain amount of tidiness to keep the skeins in order. Each colour combination can also be wound in a butterfly. This is necessary when working the sleeve.
The pattern suggests that every alternate square has WS facing, but it also produces a fine result to work the entire piece in stocking stitch. The colours will then blend into each other more.
The pattern for Bring on the Night both contains a version forwomenand men.
