Date Debrief is the sweater I'm wearing to brunch with my mates on a Sunday morning as we dig into life's gossip.

In my twenties, when I was living in Germany, I had a group of friends that felt like a mash-up of "Sex and the City" and "Friends." We were 3 girls and 3 boys, all working, all single, half of us expats in a foreign land and all of us doing the things you do in your twenties. We often had long hungover brunches on Sunday mornings - either out or at someone's flat. I would throw on a hoodie and jeans and be done, now in my forties I want to elevate that look with a great sweater that makes it less obvious I'm hungover from the two glasses of wine I had the night before. 

What astounds me is Erika Knight's ability to reach into my brain from our conversations and bring a feeling to life through knitwear in a way I didn't know was possible. This sweater is dedicated to Paul, Angela, Jasmin, James and Tom - my wonderful brunch mates who are now scattered across the globe but sit in a picture frame on my bookshelf always.

This sweater is worked flat from the bottom up. The front and back are cast on and worked straight to the armholes in a stripe sequence and slip stitch pattern. Stitches are then cast off for each side, armholes decreased and worked straight to the shoulders, which are shaped using short rows. The sleeves are worked flat from the cuff up and shaped at the top. Stitches are picked up for the neck and worked in the round to form the neckband.

The shape of this design in simple and I think it could look amazing on a man's frame as well. The textured stitches give it tons of personality and coziness.
