The Theatre Wrap is a simple poncho with scarf neck. Worked in stripes and bands of moss stitch pattern to give a reversible fabric.
Erika Knight surprised us in the best way with this design, she's made moss stitch look like something woven and she's turned the concept of a poncho into something modern and funky.
This pattern is work in 7 pieces and assembled with decorative stitching. It's a perfect piece you can throw on over your coat, under your coat or over your shoulders when it's chilly inside. You still have full movement of your arms and you aren't trying to tuck a bunch of fabric into the arm holes of your jacket which is terribly uncomfortable.
Back is worked in 3 pieces, centre back panel, left back and right back. Front is worked in 2 pieces, left front and right front. Scarf is worked in 2 pieces and joined at centre back.
Erika uses seven shades of Origin to bring this design to life. The pattern is written for three sizes, so you can knit it to the fit you'd like. It's also quite adjustable due to it's simple construction.
This piece has some serious class.
Theatre Wrap is part of the design collaboration between A Yarn Story and Erika Knight using our in-house yarn, Origin. You can find the rest of the collection here.
