KORO KORO

Design by Olga Buraya-Kefelian

コロコロ (from Japanese) - rolling, welting

This slip-stitch shawl is another relative from the family of KOKO and LOLO designs  by Olga Buraya-Kefelian. This right-sided triangular shawl is created tip up and is worked using alternating stripes of colour. All while combining basic stitches that become intuitive and repetitive as this satisfying 3D texture begins to emerge! Addictive in its nature, you won’t be able to put your needles down until it is finished,  this shawl will be knit in a blink of an eye! ©Olga Buraya-Kefelian

I gave the kit to my daughter (she’s in her early 30s) for Christmas. She loves a challenging pattern but also one that, once she’s got the hang of it, she can relax into over Netflix. She started it and after one or two mistakes has now got into it and finds it pleasantly addictive. I give her a Yarn Story kit about every 2 years (that’s about her average time to finish). The last one was Oles by Benes Fernandez, it looks super. The one before that was the Narbeth cowl by Aleks Byrd which she wears all winter long and gets lots of compliments for.
